After completing the poly-tile prinitng, I began to use lino to create a more detailed and clear design. Within my design I incorporated themes from the shadow factory such as cogs and world war two planes.
Firstly I traced the design onto the lino tile. Then using the carving tool I carved the outline of the design, rolled paint onto the tile and then primted the design onto paper. Similar to the poly-tile printing, I engraved the areas that I wanted to keep the lightest colour.
With regards to lino printing, I found it difficult to carve into without cutting myself or slipping out of the lines, so the final outcome wasn’t as detailed as I wanted it to be. In order to improve my print, I would be more careful when carving the design.
